RRISD First Grade High-Frequency Word List

By the end of the school year, each first grader will read, identify, & write a minimum of 100 high-frequency words from the RRISD word list. Note: showing mastery of writing high-frequency words should come from evidence in student writing- not a spelling test in the form of an isolated list. Although the typical first grader is expected to gain far more than 100 high-frequency words, this is the number set foth by the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
