Week 1 (2nd 9 Weeks)

Dear Parents,
We had another great week of learning this week! Please take a look at what we will be learning next week...

Next Week...
Math: This week we will continue with measurement using non standard units. We will introduce time (to the hour) later in the week and will continue it into the following week.

Science: This week will begin our unit on magnets and patterns of movement.  Students will use magnets to push and pull objects and predict how magnets will interact with various materials.

Reading:  Students will be comparing fiction and nonfiction and identifying text features in nonfiction books. They will learn about the different text features and their purpose.

Writing:  This is the final week of our study on personal narrative writing. Students will select one of their personal narratives to revise, edit, publish and share.

Balanced Literacy: Students will continue to explore and learn about timelines.  Students will be given their AT HOME Timeline Project that will be due on November 12th.  The project will allow students to share about one of their family holidays through a timeline of events that they do to celebrate.
