We had a busy week of learning with Storybook Character Day in
the middle! It was great to see the kids so excited to share their books and
costumes with each other!
We took some time in class today to finish our RAZ kids
assignments. They know they need to listen, read and answer questions for each
book to be complete. I will assign new books today. Also please return report
card envelopes and data binders by Monday.
Next Week...
Math: Students will use
the language of subtraction with lots of opportunities to explore subtraction
situations with words, pictures, objects, and numbers. Students will also
explore with 2D and 3D shapes.
Science: Students will
identify and describe natural sources of water including streams, lakes, and
oceans.
Reading: Students will
identify the main idea and important details in their reading.
Writing: This is the second
week of a three-week study on How-To writing. This week the focus is using
transition words, writing an introduction, using detailed pictures to teach,
and revising and editing with a partner.
Balanced Literacy: In Social Studies,
students will be learning about the importance of voting and Veteran’s Day. In
Phonics, students will continue to practice locating and reading high frequency
words.
